Sundays at Peoples

During the summer months of June, July and August regular church services are suspended.  We have "Lay led Worship Services" at 11:00 a.m. during those months.  See the schedule in the list on the left side of this page for topics.

Our regular church services are held on an academic calendar, with the opening service of the church year taking place the first Sunday after Labor Day. During the summer, informal Sunday morning meetings are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Holidays of many of the world's religions are honored or celebrated during the year. For a information on upcoming Services, click the "Worship and Forum" section on the left side of this page.

On Sunday mornings, most activity occurs between 9:45 a.m. and 12 noon.  Child care is available for children under the age of five from 9:45 a.m. to 12 noon on the lower level.

From 9:45 a.m.  to  10:50 a.m. we hold Forum in the Andre Room. Members, friends and visitors gather for programs of civic, cultural, theological, scientific or recreational interest. Speakers from many diverse backgrounds address the group with time for discussion.  For a information on upcoming Forums, click on  the "Worship and Forum" section on the left side of this page.

Service in the Sanctuary occurs from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with music, readings, meditation and a sermon by the minister. One service each month is lay-led by members of the Worship Committee. Throughout the year we have intergenerational services which include the children and youth. Once each month time is taken in the service for people to share their Joys and Sorrows with the congregation.

The Director of Education and the Religious Education Committee plan the curricula and schedule of events for the children. The Director of Education and the Youth Adult Committee (YAC) plan the curricula and schedule of events for the youth. Each class offers age-appropriate curriculum on the larger theme. Refer to the Religious Education / Curriculum section of this web site for further details of the current year.

The RE program offers classes for children in preschool through high school. Regular RE Classes meet at 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and a relaxed activity time is offered for our younger children at 10:00-10:50 a.m., while their parents attend adult programs. Childcare is offered for infants and toddlers from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
