WORSHIP – Sunday, September 5, - 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary – "Living the Practice” with Reverend Tom Capo.
September 5, After the Worship Service Labor Day Ice Cream Social
Let’s all bring our favorite ice creams and toppings to share after worship. Summer is coming to an end, and this may be the last time, at least for a few months, that we want to something cold on a hot day.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICES - 9:30 - 10:30am; beginning September 12—November 14
WORSHIP – Sunday, September 12 – 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary - "“Meditation or Prayer” with Reverend Tom Capo. We will share our joys and sorrows in the service.
WORSHIP – Sunday, September 19 - 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary – “Taking a Sabbath” with Reverend Tom Capo. The choir will perform during the service.
WORSHIP – Sunday, September 26 – 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary – “ "Accessing Your Availability to the Here and Now," with Julie Hanson. “Being in the present moment” is a goal popularly recognized as both desired and difficult. It may even be seen as an anti-goal. Aside from creatively addressing the oppressive problem of “limited discretionary time,” what is required of the individual who seeks this peace? Must it remain the province of ascetics, religious solitaries, children, poets, and lunatics? Why should they have all the fun? We will be drawing from the wisdom of Mary Pipher and privileged by a special performance from members of the Choir.
Sunday Morning Spiritual Practices - Take Your Pick!
On Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am, starting September 12 through November 14, you will have the opportunity to participate in three different spiritual practices before worship. Each week, select which practice you would like to try; try a different spiritual practice each week if you wish.
Childcare will be provided upon request for these classes—please contact our DRE, Beth Rheinstrom at least a week before the Sunday morning that you would like childcare. Go to page 5 for a detailed description of each spiritual practice.
