Religious Education Overview

Peoples Church offers religious education (RE) for children, youth, and adults. We strive to provide an environment that acknowledges age-appropriate learning, recognizes individual styles and needs, and celebrates spiritual exploration. We draw inspiration from our own Unitarian Universalist and other faith traditions, service work, the study of great thinkers, and of course by learning from each other.

Classes for children and youth meet on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM, starting September 18th and continuing through the end May. We welcome all families seeking an open religious education enrichment program for their children and youth. Unitarian Universalists believe questions of truth and meaning do not have singular answers. Instead, we provide our children and youth the knowledge and skills they need to make informed choices as they learn to articulate their beliefs and discover what gives meaning to their own lives.

Adult classes meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM starting September 14th and continuing through the end of May. Classes for adults are open to all adults who seek information and want to enhance their UU journeys.

If you have questions about our programming that are not answered here, please contact our Director of Religious Education or call (319) 362-9827 or (319) 210-4239. Want to learn a little more about us first? Click here to learn more about what to expect on Sundays.
