About Ann Cejka
Ann has been affiliated with Ushers Ferry Historic Village since starting with the site as a volunteer interpreter in 1989. She has worked as both an interpreter and seasonal laborer involved in care and restoration of several key exhibit buildings. After receiving her B.A. in both History and Public Relations from Mt. Mercy College, she began working full time with Ushers Ferry as the Program Coordinator. During her tenure at Ushers Ferry, Ann has researched and developed numerous exhibit buildings at Ushers Ferry, and has designed hands-on, interactive programs for children in the format of school tours, week-long day camps, and parent/child workshops. Ann also led many of the site collections rescue and retrieval efforts after the 2008 flood: documenting damaged collections and buildings and lending advice and expertise in the restoration efforts. Today, Ushers Ferry is once again fully operational with 12 historic buildings restored and open for public tours.
