Kathleen “Kath” Mavity joined Peoples Church in January of 2013. Kath has had a chance to participate in the life of the church as a member (past or present) of the Worship Arts team, Shared Ministry team, Greeters, Sacred Conversations team, Choir, and Board of Trustees. “Our community needs beacons of light during these incredibly trying times. Peoples is one of those beacons already: a courageous, welcoming, liberal spiritual presence committed to social justice. I like to think I can help Peoples Church step even more fully into that role as your Board President.

Emily Hoselton may be our most flexible Board candidate.  Sometimes she goes by Astaria Wolfsong, and she uses whatever pronouns you think she uses.  She joined Peoples Church some time around 2015-2017 because she was looking for a spiritual home where she felt like she belonged and wouldn’t be judged.  She wanted to branch away from the beliefs she was raised to have, and needed a safe space to explore herself and her spirituality.  She decided to join the Board of Trustees because she enjoys being involved with this community and likes trying new things.

Josh Wagner is a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids who lives with his partner Shelbi and dog Oscar. He spends his time playing music, exercising, walking Oscar, and hanging out with friends. Josh loves board games, card games, and D&D (most things gaming related). He is excited to serve on the board as the secretary and all the new opportunities this brings for not only personal growth, but congregational growth as well!
