Congregational Administrator

Title: Congregational Administrator
Reports to: Minister

Hours and schedule: 20 hours per week / daytime hours, Tuesday through Friday

Purpose of Position
Manage the daily operations of Peoples Church. Work both independently and collaboratively to coordinate communications, implement office procedures, manage the membership database, update websites and calendars, purchase supplies, monitor facilities, and support the bookkeeper. Core Competencies

  • Organization and Planning: Coordinates people, communications, materials, and support to accomplish multiple, concurrent goals and activities. Works both independently and in close collaboration with the minister and other Peoples Church staff.
  • Trust and Integrity: Is widely trusted to keep confidentialities, admit errors, and adhere to a transparent set of personal and professional values that are congruent with the ministry of Peoples Church.
  • Conflict Management: Recognizes and resolves conflicts effectively, applying principles of active listening, collaboration, and equity.

Essential Functions

  • Communications: Manage the church communications to inform members, visitors, and the public about church news, activities, and events.
  • Office Administration: Manage the church office to ensure organizational efficiency and consistency.
  • Facility: Monitor the facility, grounds, and office equipment to ensure safe and clean upkeep.

Qualifications
Qualifications may be met as a result of education, professional experience, volunteer work, informal training, and/or equivalent lived experiences.

  • Experience providing administrative support for a program or organization that includes coordinating day-to-day operations.
  • Proficiency with the following office-related computer applications: Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point, Mailchimp, Word Press, SquareSpace, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Acrobat Pro), and Canva
  • Realm membership database; preferred but not required
  • Experience being organized, efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.
  • An understanding of religious institutions in general or Unitarian Universalism in particular; preferred but not required. How to Apply .
